To put it plainly: They do what they are supposed to do. Long-term.

In the treadmill market, reliability is unfortunately not a given. Equipment downtime can become extremely costly in professional environments.

All components are designed with high mechanical and electrical safety reserves.

Our treadmills feature a patented dynamic damping system using individually mounted Dynamic Joint Protectors. This creates the well-known "Forest Floor Effect". Impact forces are reduced by up to 30% compared to hard ground. This protects the horse’s joints and extends belt lifespan, which reduces long-term operating costs.

Sascotec uses the largest rubberized belt drums on the market. This further reduces belt wear and ensures very low noise levels. At 7 km/h, the treadmill operates at only 75 dB, quieter than a household washing machine. Less noise means less stress for horses and handlers.

The treadmill interior requires no hoof-side wedges on the Elite X10 and Elite X25 models. This eliminates many common injury risks documented in the industry. On the X25 Construction Industry and the Elite X45 and X55 models, the side walls are inward-angled for additional safety.

The belt intake is fully enclosed, preventing hands, clothing, or small animals from being drawn in.

The ramps do not need to be folded up for cleaning, which significantly reduces effort in daily barn conditions.

Sascotec treadmills are the longest on the market. Even large horses can stretch their heads forward comfortably without hitting the back bar, promoting relaxation and correct movement.

Multiple adjustable tie points inside the treadmill allow optimal positioning for different horse sizes without restricting movement.

Movement equals health. A lack of movement leads to a wide range of health problems, including muscle weakness and imbalances, spinal issues, joint arthritis, suspensory ligament injuries, tendon or hoof problems. It can also contribute to cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, overweight, diabetes, and much more.

You might say: “My horse is out in the paddock.” That is true. However, does it walk at least 10 kilometers every day?

Wild horses move up to 60 kilometers per day while searching for food. That natural level of movement keeps their bodies healthy. Standard stable or paddock environments cannot replicate this. Only very few horse owners have the time to compensate through daily long rides. And paddocks spanning several thousand hectares are simply not available here.

This is where treadmills provide a solution.

They can be used regardless of weather or daylight.

They allow targeted muscle building with adjustable incline settings.

You can choose from different training programs and tailor the workload individually.

Training progress can be monitored and documented. This is especially important for rehabilitation horses.

With the right equipment, heart rate data and stride analysis can be recorded.

Impact forces on the hooves are significantly reduced depending on the treadmill model.

The movement pattern is clearly visible because you can safely observe the horse from all sides.

These are advantages that even nature cannot always provide, and certainly not in most commercial or private stables today.

For boarding stables, another advantage is that treadmill time can be rented out to boarders. Treadmills can be equipped with coin-operated timers, allowing the unit to refinance itself quickly.

  • Time saved during the warm-up phase due to the treadmill.
  • Daily exercise keeps the veterinarian away longer.
  • Shoeing correction by the farrier on site is possible more precisely.
  • Training supplement without riders, preparation of young horses e.g. for the licensing, treadmill as a rehabilitation measure.

Yes, we offer and end to end design, planning and installation service of the Elite treadmills from Sascotec in the UK.

Prices start around £67,500 plus VAT and selected equipment and water system configuration.

Sascotec recommends one service per year or every 1000 operating hours, whichever comes first.

For commercial-use treadmills, a service is required every 500 operating hours.

The two devices serve different purposes.

A treadmill trains movement and muscle, while an aquatrainer adds the therapeutic benefits of water:

• Cooling (anti-inflammatory)

• Hydrostatic pressure (supports circulation)

• Adjustable buoyancy (relieves load)

• Adjustable resistance (builds muscle efficiently)

20 minutes in the Aquatrainer equals approximately 90 minutes of exercising under saddle.

Aquatraining is especially valuable in summer, during rehabilitation, and for conditioning without overheating.

Choose based on your training goal and budget:

  • For regular, moderate exercise and targeted incline training, the Elite X10 or Elite X25 are ideal.
  • If you aim for conditioning, performance training, or higher workloads, choose from the Elite X-Series Construction Industry models with speeds between 25 and 55 km/h.

Higher speeds increase mechanical load. Therefore, each model in the Elite-X-Series is reinforced accordingly. Motors, frames, and total machine weight increase to maintain long-term durability.

Sascotec is the only manufacturer using flanged Flender couplings from the X25 model upward. These couplings absorb impact forces, reduce mechanical shock, protect the horse’s joints, and extend the lifespan of motors and bearings.

No matter which model you select, you can rely on long-lasting performance and mechanical security.
